If you’re like many artists, your studio is brimming with dozens of completed pieces of your work. You put everything into your craft, but it sits in the house collecting dust. Bad Town is here to change that.
Our mission is to provide a place for emerging artists to sell their work. Great art is a form of storytelling, and we believe that every story deserves a chance to be heard.
Our core values:
Equality - Unity - Openness - Respect - Opportunity - Determination
Bad Town owner Samantha Gonzalez found herself sitting behind a desk in an office building every day from 9 to 5, crunching numbers for major pharmaceutical companies. As she worked another weekend away, for barely enough money, she looked at her career path and said, "This ain't it."
Having been distracted by school and then work for the past 10 years, she realized that she had no idea what she liked to do anymore and began experimenting with hobbies. After acting in a few plays, shooting guns, boxing, and playing piano, she remembered that she always loved art growing up. She picked up a paint brush and...she was bad at it. That's what happens when you don't paint for a decade.
What she was good at was marketing, and her friend group just so happened to consist entirely of talented artists who had never tried to sell their work before. She knew they weren't the only artists with talent that deserved to be seen. From there, Bad Town was born, operating as an online art shop selling the work of emerging artists.
In 2021, as a response to COVID, she launched an extension of Bad Town called BESO Digital. BESO is a digital marketing agency geared toward professionals in creative industries. The agency is dedicated to bringing artists' sales online and growing their existing digital brands. Samantha's goal is to make online sales easy for artists as we continue to move into a digital world.
